Winchester District UMMen

Welcome to the new Winchester District, UMMen’s webpage. It is my sincere hope that we can use this site to share comments, concerns, and praise to lift up men from around the Winchester District.

The primary purpose of United Methodist Men as an organization, is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in all their relationships. Accordingly, the Virginia Conference, and Winchester District United Methodist Men’s Cabinets work with the local church men’s groups, and other district organizations, in developing programs to meet the needs and interests of men of all ages.

Our Vision is that of Men.....

• Empowered and partnering with their Pastors
• Loving God by declaring the centrality of Jesus Christ in their lives
• Participating in all the means of grace
• Fully utilizing their gifts, graces and talents
• Participating in spiritual growth opportunities through works of piety and mercy in the diverse ministries of the church
• Reproducing their faith in others, as a means of spiritual formation

Our Mission

Our mission is to support local Churches and Fellowships develop a pathway to grow spiritually mature men, fully capable of empowering the ministry of Jesus Christ in the world. Helping men to mature as disciples as they encourage spiritual formation in others.

The Winchester District United Methodist Men strongly support the Virginia Conference Commission on Disabilities with commitments of time, talent and finances for Heart Havens and Camp Rainbow Connection. Their assistance goes a long way in providing places for the mentally and physically disabled to live out their lives in Heart Havens residences, places they can call “home.” Men also serve as volunteer counselors at Camp Rainbow’s special weeklong summer camps for those of God's children with developmental disabilities.

The United Methodist Church is one of the largest sponsors of Scouting units in the United States, and is a ministry of the General Commission on United Methodist Men. Accordingly, United Methodist Men’s groups provide primary sponsorship in the local church for Scouting ministries that includes Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, and Venture Crews.

If you are interested in being a part of this great organization and using your gifts to enhance God's church, we encourage you to come and join us.

We invite you to be a part of the United Methodist Men's Fellowship.
